Cascade members are proud to be involved in a variety of charitable activities. Some members make small quilts for resident families at Ronald McDonald House; some make pillows for Akron General Medical Center’s cardiac care patients; some make Christmas stockings for soliders serving oversees, in connection with the KISS Quilt Guild.
The Guild plans to donate part of the proceeds from the 2010 Raffle Quilt to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. Part of the proceeds from our last quilt show were donated to an interfaith organization working with children. The Guild also donated blankets to Ronald McDonald House last Christmas and to the National Quilt Museum to help preserve our quilting heritage.
Guild members assembled wool blanket samples for ultra-warm blankets for the needy that are distributed by the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
A portion of the proceeds for our 2011 raffle quilt were donated to the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank.
